Storms of Sorrow

Oh, storms of sorrow - Our hearts seem not to comprehend.

Oh, storms of sorrow - Full of bereavement, despair, and lament.

Oh, storms of sorrow - Our fragility can feel like our only friend.

Oh, storms of sorrow - When will the sun shine again?

Much rain is what plants need, and much wind strengthens the roots of those very plants. May we too remember, faith is strengthened in such desperate times. The most beautiful songs come from seasons where the rain thickens.

In every story of powerful deliverance, man came to the end of what felt like wits end, and the Lord’s power was bestowed to show one how to depend.

The bible is full of God working in desperate times, and the way of faith is learned through the storms of life.

Despair not, but let your desperation thrust you into our most careful and tender Guide, that you may see that even rain has its most precious purpose in your life.

Thank you, storms of sorrow - I have learned to depend.

Thank you, storms of sorrow - How His love never ends.

Thank you, storms of sorrow - He is more than just a friend.

Thank you, storms of sorrow - I’ll see the sun shine again.

This brings to mind a great quote by Spurgeon, “I have learned to kiss the wave that throws me against the Rock of Ages.” Thanks for sharing this beautiful poem, brother!
